Situated at the bank of the world-famous West Lack, JB is the oldest, largest and best-known department store in Zhejiang Province. It was founded in 1918, and was the first to become a state-owned retail enterprise of Hangzhou in the year of 1949. In 1992, it was transformed into a limited-liability company. In January, 1994, JB developed into a listed company on the ShanghaiStock Exchange. Later in 1996, an integrated group was formally set up. JB is principally engaged in the retail of general merchandise. It's main body is Hangzhou Jiefang Road Department Store which has a gross trading area of 18, 000 spuare meters and a total of 2, 000 staff. There are 22 business departmens under it, dealing in various commodities up to 50, 000 in kinds. JB has 10 wholly-omned subsidiares, 4 holding companies, 1 franchised company and 10 joint companies,covering foreign stade, finance, tourism, stock, processing, repairment and maintainment. |
